Entrepreneurial Incubator

We Want to Help You Start A Business!

As part of our Center for Working Families we provide business startup resources and coaching to turn your passion into a viable business that benefits you, your family and our community.

Edna Martin Christian Center is launching an Entrepreneurship and Community Solutions Center, and it will be the centerpiece of Phase 2 in the renovation and expansion of the Leadership & Legacy Center.

The Entrepreneurship and Community Solutions Center (ECSC) will be a place where new businesses can be planned and launched and the community can work together to improve lives in the neighborhood.

Fundraising for Phase 2 (including the ECSC) began on November 20, 2018, upon the completion of Phase 1. The existing building was upgraded and modernized in the first phase, including new bathrooms, renovated program space, new offices, a renovated food service area, and a new child care facility. Fundraising for that portion of the renovation was completed before work began. Phase 2 will feature new construction, adding 10,000 square feet to complex. In addition to the ECSC, Phase 2 will also include the two-acre Henry Blair farm, plus space for family literacy and counseling.

Though still in the planning stage, the ECSC already has sixteen partners organizations, six of whom are in Martindale-Brightwood.  Immanuel Ivey, the Micro Enterprise Director at Edna Martin Christian Center, has been tapped to lead the new ECSC.

The ECSC and the remainder of Phase II is projected to be complete by the end of 2019.
